I really appreciate this. I’ve learned that I obsess over everyone’s experiences. Like I’m some mad cruise director who will get thrown off the bus if everyone doesn’t have a good journey. It is a hard thing to let go of. I need constant reminders, and this was one today.

Crazy to only be aware of this at 50 something.. it’s hard to change.

This landed like a punch I spent most of my life measuring myself by other people's moods apologising until I heard “it's okay” now I'm learning to stop that hunger and breathe on my own terms Your words cut straight to it thank you

Man, I feel this one so, so much, especially waiting for the "it's OK, I still love you" - I almost feel kinda gross when I do it, like the apologizing I'm doing is really just trying to manipulate my partner into saying what I want to hear. I'm really not sorry, I'm just trying to make them feel something other than what I know they are feeling, because i feel so uncomfortable feeling like i disappointed someone, or made them mad, or whatever. Oof. You've given me a lot to think about. <3

This is really beautiful and meaningful. Thank you for sharing and for so clearly articulating something I've also struggled with all my life. I've forwarded it to half the people I know!
