I really appreciate you. Also, Mark is a really great coach. I wouldn't have done this without your help.

I find comebacks most hard when it comes to microagressions. They often leave me feeling paralyzed - only after I wish I could transport back to that moment and say or do something differently.

Would love to hear or read your new thinking. I want to write about this too. Like most BIPOC, I have too many stories like this.

I think I have had the privilege to not think about this too much in terms of my race and gender. In all honestly, I only became aware of microaggressions like 10 years ago. I didn't have the framework to think about things in. BUT I FEEL like after reading your comment that is the EXACT time that this situation would make sense to feel in. The situation is so complex and humans are strange and how to act is an ever evolving thing - I believe that we all want to be good, we just don't know how or what that looks like. We believe that we are fighting for good. I really appreciate you taking the work to expose and educate people like me. That takes strength. (I don't mean to be offensive when I say that I believe people are good. I just need to believe that to keep going. If I loose that assumption I will fall...)

Thank you for acknowledging that. I also understand hope the same way. If we are not hoping and imagining we accept the fate of what we see. I believe too, humans are trying to do what we think and believe is good.

Please don’t take my comment as a way to expose and educate. Although this is my truth, I’m tapping into vulnerability and empathy. Although I know no matter what people will be people, I can only do my part by showing up as who I am.

Carissa, thank you. The sentiment is the same. Thank you in advance for taking the time out to read my letters to my son. I hope it brings you more warmth.

Can I think of comebacks is the moment?

Sometimes, yes and grateful when I do.

for me it depends how I feel physically .

and a pretty fine piece you made! thank you

I didn't think about that! What I am feeling in my body might help guide what I can think of in the moment. Brilliant.
