I think the only way it works is if you're both willing and brave enough to be vulnerable...so you might as well buy lottery tickets, because the odds of that are about the same. I kid. Sort of. It is painful when you're ready to be brave and the other person isn't. When you see the potential and they don't. Then you have to be even braver and walk away. Two things I believe: Man's rejection is God's protection (feel free to remove the gender and religion from it) and Maya Angelou's humdinger: When someone shows you who they are, believe them...the first time. xo

Love the honesty here, and so much resonates. When I started dating my now-husband he was super up front about wanting to be with me, and he always answered my calls and responded to my texts. I was like WTF? People can actually choose to behave like this?!? He taught me a thing or two, needless to say :)

i sent this drawing of ''not every relationship is meant to last forever'' to my ex, it somehow helped us get over the breakup grief in a very beautiful and compassionate way. Now about making someone fall in love with us? I think this is the great mystery, I know people who have the qualities I admire but I don't feel in love with them, I confess that I could also? It's a strange way that we work...
